CO-OP START UP

You and your fellow board members have just been elected to serve as directors of a newly formed cooperative. There are many activities directors must address in the co-op start up process. Your board needs to address the two following issues immediately:

1. Elect board officers. Specifically:

a. Elect a board president who is to

- arrange for all future board meetings

- preside over all board meetings

- establish the agenda for all board meetings

b. Elect a secretary who is to:

- record minutes of all board meetings

- take attendance at all board meetings

- turn in necessary reports for the board

(this does not necessarily mean that the secretary must prepare

all of the reports)

c. Elect a vice president who is to:

- fill in for either the president or secretary in their absence

d. Obtain and record current phone numbers for each board member.

e. Give your instructor permission to duplicate and distribute any of your board's completed assignments as examples of "good" reports for educational purposes by completing the >Instructor Permission Form= (include with your team=s case study #1 report).

2. Establish a name and a corresponding >logo= for your cooperative. The word ACyclone@ as well as any references to >ISU= are not to be used as part of your cooperative=s name or logo.
