Economics Department Outcomes Assessment Committee Tasks, 2003-4:
1) Summarize results of previously administered surveys to graduating seniors (program evaluation, senior surveys)
2) Update placement records for both Econ and Ag Business recent graduates
3) Develop and administer an ‘alumni’ survey
4) Get 301 instructors together to evaluate the current pre and post test procedure used in that class
1) Summarize results of previously administered surveys to graduating seniors (self assessment of skills, literacy test)
2) Evaluate the current skills assessment and literacy test surveys; develop and recommend changes, if thought appropriate
1) Develop and administer appropriate ‘assessment’ surveys related to our graduate program(s)
1) Develop and recommend a survey of When, How, and Why students decide to major in Econ and/or Ag Business (this survey may relate more to the Recruiting Committee, but it is a topic that is of interest to our committee and the Ad Hoc Committee as well)
1) Develop and administer a survey of other department administrators on campus to provide feedback (including things they like plus recommended changes) regarding ‘service’ courses that their students take
2) Develop a committee proposal to present to the DEO that contains our recommendations for departmental policies and procedures to follow regarding faculty involvement in outcomes assessment activities
1) Get principles instructors together to develop and recommend (or administer) a plan of action to evaluate (and possibly recommend changes) on how principles are currently being taught.
