Applications of agent-based modeling in economics, and in the social sciences more generally, are now expanding at a rapid pace. For example, in my own area of specialization (electric power economics) I am supervising seven graduate research assistants involved in multiple projects focusing on the agent-based modeling and study of electric power markets with smart-grid functionality.

In consequence, I am no longer able to prepare and disseminate detailed "news notes" in a timely way that provide a balanced coverage of ongoing agent-based research and teaching activities. Instead, what I have been doing is adding materials of interest directly to my Agent-Based Computational Economics (ACE) Website as time permits.

Therefore, starting today and in the future, my occasional news notes will simply include pointers to the particular parts of my ACE website that have been most heavily updated in recent months. Whenever these news notes are ready for posting, I will send a a brief announcement giving a pointer to this posting to all participants in my moderated announcements-only Majordomo ACE news list. If you would like to subscribe to (unsubscribe from) this moderated announcements-only ACE news list, please send an email message to majordomo@iastate.edu with the following message in the email body:
